Lifelong County Resident

Upland - Edmund H. Butler, 79, of 1 Seminary av., a lifelong county resident, died yesterday at his home. He had been ill eight months.
Butler had been in the cement contracting business 45 years when he retired last year. He formed his own contracting company in 1910 and withdrew from the company in 1950 to work for J. Ray Patterson Contractors, Chester.
He was born in Birmingham and was educated in the county schools. He married Margaret Miller in 1921.
He was a member of the Baptist Church of Upland.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son and daughter, Herbert of Wallingford, and Mrs. Josephine Titus of Chester Plaza; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the William S. Bleyler funeral home, 500 W. 22nd st., with burial in Chester Rural Cemetery.
