Marriages of Orange County, North Carolina, 1779-1868, pg 250

RELIGION: Hannah was received by the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting of Friends on 5 Jan 1771 on a certificate from Goshen Monthly Meeting in Chester Co. PA dated 1768.10.7. There is no indication that James joined the meeting. After James' death in 1778, Hannah married Robert Ray and on 4 Jan 1783 she was disowned by the Quaker meeting for marriage out of unity.
