Born in West Chester, Chester, Pennsylvania she is the daughter of daughter of Samuel and Mary Ann ? Guss. She was married to Mifflin Passmore (M.P.) Brosius November 12, 1876 in Iowa and by the 1880's the couple was living in Nebraska. They had several children Jesse Samuel, Nettie Elizabeth, Clara Elnora, William Taylor, Viola, Walter, Ralph Rhule, Laura and Leroy Levi. The 1900 census shows that Eliza had already delivered 10 children only 8 of whom were still living. The children living at home in 1900 were - Jesse S, Clara E, William T, Viola, Walter, Ralph R, and Roy L.
