Notes for Derwood Glen GRUWELL
Derwood G. Gruwell, 50, 2100 Arlington St., a Muncie postman, died Thursday in Ball Hospital. He had been ill for the past seven months. Born in Henry County, he had lived in Muncie most of his life.
He had operated Gruwell's Furniture Store and other businesses for the last five years and had been a mail carrier for the Muncie Post Office. He attended God's Freewill Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Atkinson; a son, Jerry; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Haskett; three brothers, Don, Bob, and Ralph; and six grandchildren, all of Muncie.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be there at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Ferris Miller and Rev. James Helton will officiate. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory.
The family requests memorials may be give for cancer research.
