Deceased Name: W. Wyclif Walton
W. Wyclif Walton, 86, a Philadelphia patent lawyer for more than 50 years, died Sunday at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He lived in Gladwyne.
Mr. Walton also served on the board of trustees of Moore College of Art for more than five decades and contributed to its transition into an accredited college. During part of his tenure as a trustee, he was board president.
Mr. Walton was a 1924 graduate of Haverford College and a 1930 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He was a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.
He served as president of the Huguenot Society of Pennsylvania, the Men's Garden Club of the Delaware Valley and the Gladwyne Civic Association.
Among the historical groups he belonged to were the Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution and the Colonial Society.
He was an active volunteer for the Morris Arboretum and was a member of the Union League.
He served as a Navy lieutenant commander from 1942 to 1946, including an assignment to Okinawa.
Survivors: his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Lewis Walton; son, Geoffrey; daughter, Stefni, and a sister.
Services: 4 p.m. tomorrow, St. Christopher's Church, Gladwyne. Interment is private.
