ROBERT L., 90, died January 17, 2008, at home. of natural causes. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Doris, 2 sons, Timothy and Bruce, his daughter-in-law Claudia, 2 treasured grand-children, Philip and Jessica, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Haverford College, 370 Lancaster Ave., Haverford, PA 19041. A Memorial Service to honor Bob will be held Saturday, January 26, at the Valley Friends' Meeting House, Old Eagle School Rd., Wayne, at 11 A.M.

Robert L. Balderston Company executive, 90
Robert L. Balderston, 90, of Berwyn, a retired company vice president, died Jan. 17 at home.
For 30 years, Mr. Balderston was an executive with Nice Ball Bearing Co. in Philadelphia. He retired as vice president of administration in the mid-1970s.
He and his wife, Doris Fisher Balderston, met at Nice and married in 1945. Their three sons attended William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, and Mr. Balderston served on the school's board of overseers and was on the committee that supervised the construction of a new swimming pool, where his sons set swim team records.
Mr. Balderston was also an accomplished athlete. He was a shot-putter in college and bowled until last year. He was a member of the Divotees, a group of golf enthusiasts, and held a golf handicap as low as 7, his son Richard said. He belonged to St. Davids Golf Club.
A native of Colora, Md., Mr. Balderston earned a bachelor's degree from Haverford College and later served on Haverford's board. "My father loved Haverford and would promote its mission to any who would listen," his son said. He was also a United Way volunteer.
In addition to his wife and son, Mr. Balderston is survived by sons Timothy and Bruce; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Valley Friends Meeting, 1121 Old Eagle School Rd., Wayne.
