George Lee FEBIGER, born December 8 1822 and died January 22, 1891 and was commissioned Major and Paymaster, United States Army, May 3, 1861; Brevet Lieutenant Colonel, March 13, 1865, “for faithful and meritorious services during the war;” Lieutenant Colonel December 31, 1879, and Colonel and acting Paymaster General, January 24, 1881. He retired from active service December 8, 1886. He was married three times: first to Annie FISHER; secondly, to Caroline A. SMITH and thirdly to Frances PLEASANTS.
