Notes for Jesse Evans PHILIPS
Jesse Evans Philips was treasurer of Chester Co., Pa., in 1874. He was proprietor and conductor of Fremont Academy at his home in East Nantmeal from 1847 to 1858. He was also a surveyor and employed by the government to do such work in the South. Was one of the three Philips brothers who have for upwards of fifty years officiated consecutively as clerks for East Nantmeal Baptist Church. He was also a justice of the peace in East Nantmeal.
