Townsend was the first child of William & Mary Townsend. He died of yellow fever.He married Hannah Carver who was his second cousin, she came to the USA in 1771 .
Townsend came to America in 10/1771 with his brother Joseph, where he engaged in the drug business, 18 S. 2nd St., Philadelphia, Pa.
