William Glasgow Reynolds, 75, former corporate counsel for the Du Pont Co., died Jan. 29 at Hahnemann University Hospital. He lived in Greenville, Del.
Senior counsel with the firm of Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell, he maintained a legal practice in Wilmington for more than 50 years.
A graduate of Vanderbilt University and its Law School, he joined Du Pont as a trial lawyer in 1935. He handled problems of the Remington Arms Co., a Du Pont property, in negotiations with the American and foreign governments.
He served as a Navy lieutenant during World War II and at war's end returned to Du Pont. He headed its trademark division and was chief counsel for several of its major departments.
He retired from Du Pont in 1971.
Mr. Reynolds was former chairman of the U.S. Trademark Association and was legal attache to the World Intellectual Property Organization. He was a member of President Reagan's committee coordinating the bicentennial observance of the Battle of Yorktown ending the Revolutionary War.
He was the author of seven books and co-author of three others on legal subjects.
Mr. Reynolds was a member of the board and the executive committee of the Delaware Trust Co. from 1976 to 1985 and was a director of the Rencourt Foundation of Delaware.
He was a junior warden of Christ Church, Christiana Hundred. He was a founder of the Delaware Chapter of Big Brothers-Big Sisters, former president of the Children's Home of Claymont and director of the Delaware Art Museum.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Bradford du Pont Reynolds; a son, William Bradford; daughters, Mrs. John Savage, Mrs. Kermit Nelson Farris and Katherine, and 13 grandchildren.
