Notes for Benjamin K. HAMBLETON

He was a carpenter by trade, moved to Spruce Vale, Columbiana Co. Ohio about 1812, in the company of his brothers, James and Charles and his cousin Benjamin under the firm of Hambleton & Co., owned and operated grist, saw and oil mills and a store of general merchandise and several hundred acres of land until about 1838, and a few years later moved to Beliot, Mahoning, Ohio and there followed farming until his death. He was a Hicksite Friend, anti-slavery, a Whig and Republican in politics.
