Notes for Thomas MORRIS

Thomas Morris, first settled in Byberry within the present limits of Philadelphia before 1700. The family were English Friends. In 1706 he bought of Nicholas More 105 acres in Moreland and removed there. In the deed he is designated as of Philadelphia County. In 1721 he removed to Hilltown, Bucks County, Pa., where he bought 300 acres. In his will, dated August 25, 1743, he says he is "aged and weak in body." He died 1747. His wife, Janet, survived him.
