Notes for Phillip Corbin LEE
Phillip inherited most of the property across the Potomac. He built the famous mansion, Blenheim, and sired eighteen children. He was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1681, but moved to Maryland in 1700. He married twice, but left issue from only his first wife Sarah Brooke, daughter of Hon. Thomas Brooke, of Brookefield. He lived at Blenheim, Prince George's County. (Burke's American Families with British Ancestry).

Philip, of "Blendheim," Md. b. 1681; d. 1744; removed to Maryland in 1700; served in the King's Council and as Justice; m. (first) Sarah Brooke, d. 1724, dau. of Col. Thomas and Anne (Addison) Brooke, of "Brookefield," Prince George County, Md., (second) 1726, Elizabeth Sewall, wid. of Henry Sewall; (third) Grace Ashton, dau. of Col. Henry and Mary, had issue, 15 children.
The following information provided by Linda Lee Edelstein via the Prodigy Genealogy BB, cites Edmund Jenning Lee's book, Lees of Virginia, 1642-1892.
" He married for the second time Mrs. Sewell and they had:
(1) Hancock Lee d. Oct. 1759 Probate of estate Nov. 5, 1759. In will dated Oct.. 10 he bequeathed to brothers Corbin, John and George Lee; and sisters Ann Russell and Alice Clark, Hannah Bowie, Margaret Symer, and Laetitia Wardrop.
(2) John Lee
(3) George Lee (buried Green Hill, Charles County. Probated Sept. 30, 1807.
Philip Lee was founder of the Maryland house and ancestor of Thomas Sim Lee, 1745-1819, Revolutionary Governor of Maryland.
