Notes for John Christian MARKLE

Notes for JOHN CHRISTIAN MARKLE:
John was a saddler by trade and was also employed as a sawer at the Eckert's Saw Mill. Both he and his wife Elizabeth(Bright)Penny(a widow of Joseph Penny) lived and died in Milton, Pennsylvania, and are buried on Harmony Cemetery in the Marble Valult. After the death of his wife John lived with his daughter Mary Griffin at providence, near Scranton, Pennsylvania, until he returned to Milton, where he died. His son provided a home for him while he was there. He served in the War of 1812. He was also present at the surrender of Cornwallis.(His father, according to the write up was also present during the surrender of Cornwallis. I think there is a little mix-up here, but it's easy to do when there are so much data to enter. Christian is on record so we know he was there.)
