Col. Charles Grymes, of "Maratlico," Richmond Co., son of Major John and Alice (Townley) Grymes, of "Grymesby Hall"; was sheriff of Richmond Co., 1724-25; member of the King's Council. He married Frances, daughter of Col. Edmund Jennings, Esq., of "Ripon Hall," Yorkshire, England. He was of the King's Council; Secretary of War in 1704. Married Frances, daughter of Henry Corbin, of "Buckingham House," Middlesex Co., Va.
