esse WALN was one of the most prominent and successful merchants of Philadelphia in his day, having associated with him in business his cousin, Richard WALN. He was one of the founders of and first directors of the Insurance Company of Pennsyvlania, established in 1794. In 1791, he was living in Germantown.
