Notes for Stanley C. MCFADGEN
Stanley C. McFadgen, 83, of Chester, an accountant and World War II Army veteran, died Sept. 3 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Born Jan. 11, 1915, in Philadelphia, Mr. McFadgen lived in Chester for most of his life. He graduated from Nether Providence High School. He was an accountant and treasurer at Chester Jensen Co., where he worked for 60 years. He was still working there part time up to his death.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran who served in the South Pacific, Mr. McFadgen was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was a member of Blessed Katharine Drexel Church in Chester.
Mr. McFadgen was the son of the late Maurice and Caroline Sager McFadgen. He has no surviving relatives.
Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Katharine Drexel Church, 20th Street and Providence Avenue, Chester. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby. Arrangements are by Carr Funeral Home in Wallingford, Nether Providence.
