An elder. He was one of the oldest men in Fayette County, where he had resided since 1795. He was born in Old Chester, Delaware.
Jonathan Sharpless was a useful member of Friends. Jonathan Sharpless was noted as a skillful inventor. He worked as a blacksmith in his younger days, but was involved in much milling work after moving West.
