William H. Walker, of Hockessin, Delaware, it was written he organized the first grange in Delaware and was one of the organizers of Kennett Grange, the first in Chester County, PA. He took an active part in founding the Republican Party in 1856. He believed the issue of slavery should be removed, which involved the great struggle in electing Abraham Lincoln in 1860.
