Notes for Samuel JOB
Samuel was a Quaker by birth, but became a Baptist so he could fight in the Revolutionary War. He fought as a private in the "mountaineers of Washington County" under the leadership of John Sevier and Evan Shelby. Fought in the Battle of King's Mountain, west of Charlotte, North Carolina, 10/7/1780.
11/24/1778 Samuel was given a land grant for service, 512 acres on Kendricks Creek in Washington Co, NC (now TN) Before 1796 Samuel had left TN and moved to Kentucky., then before 1802 they had moved to Jackson Co, TN. Then before 1807, they had moved to White Co, TN. About 1808 Samuel moved to Missouri and he died there about 1819.
