About 1742 Joseph Lupton and his said wife removed to Frederick County, Va., and took along with them some of their own children and some of the children, Pickerings and Luptons, by their first consorts. ... I think Joseph Lupton was one of the early clerks [he was a treasurer] of the Hopewell Monthly Meeting.
