Samuel Allen, who with his family came from England in the ship "Bristol Factor," arriving at Chester, Dec. 11, 1681. The Allens were prominent in early times in Bucks co., and intermarried with the leading county families; they were settled on Neshaminy creek in Bensalem twp., then included in a rather indefinite region known as Neshamina or Neshamina creek.
