Joseph White, a distinguished minister among Friends, was born in this township (Bristol) in 1712. He became a minister at twenty; traveled extensively and preached in this county, and about 1758 made a religious visit to England. He removed to Lower Makefield toward the close of his life, and died there in 1777, from the effects of a paralytic stroke in Falls meeting while preaching on Sunday. (Davis Vol VII. P. 83)
