Thomas H. Darlington

This morning at about 11 o'clock, Thomas H. Darlington died at his residence just south of the borough of West Chester. The deceased was in his 50th year, and was well-known and greatly esteemed in this community. He was all his life a farmer, but for several years past has conducted a real estate office in West Chester. Mr. Darlington was a brother of the late Henry T. Darlington, who was the editor and proprietor of the Doylestown Intelligencer.

Mrs. Marthe Hulme, of West Chester, Mrs. John E. Huey, of Pennsbury, and Mrs. Brinton Woodward, of Lawrence, Kansas, are sisters. Another sister, who moved to Kansas, died there a few years ago.

The deceased was a son of the late Edward and Hannah Sharpless Darlington and leaves to survive him a widow and a large family of children, several of whom are of adult years.

Mr. Darlington has been in failing health for two or three years past and at times would be unable to be at his office for days at a time. He suffered with the grip and has had more than one attack of it. The announcement of his death was a surprise to his friends, for it was only a few days ago that he was about and looking after business matters that had been placed in his charge.

Latterly he suffered with heart disease, but his death was not looked for even by his physician at this time.
