Notes for William Benjamin CRANSTON

After an illness of less than two weeks from heart trouble, William B. Cranston, 86 years old, died last night at his home near Stanton. He had spent the winter in Dover with his son, Wilkinson E. Cranston, and returned to his home at Stanton the last of May.

Mr. Cranston was a retired farmer, and had always lived in the house in which he died, the homestead having been in the family since 1812. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Cranston who lived in the home.

Mr. Cranston was a member of the Society of Friends. At one time, he served as Master of Harmony Grange.

He is survived by five children who are: Wilkinson E. Cranston of Dover; H. Gertrude Cranston of Somerville, New Jersey; Robert W. Cranston of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Nellie W. Cranston of Stanton; William B. Cranston of Wilmington. He had eight grandchildren.

Mr. Cranston was married three times. His first wife was Sallie P. McCrone, and their marriage took place in 1873. He was married in 1885 to Mary E. Walker; and in 1899 was married to Jessie Walker. All are deceased.

The funeral arrangements have not been completed.
