Notes for George Pennock FOLWELL
George P. Folwell, 85, of Deptford, died on Saturday June 30.
Born in Harrison Township, he had been a long time resident of Deptford Township, most recently at the Nancy Elkis Building.
Folwell served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, was an All South Jersey Football player for Glassboro High School, and worked as a bus driver for NJTransit. He had been active in politics in Deptford Township.
He was the husband of the late Doris (nee Hasson). He is survived by one daughter Georgene E. Pollicino and her husband Lou of Mullica Hill, one son Robert C. Folwell and his wife Deborah of Mantua, granddaughter Christine Folwell, stepsons, Richard and Louis Pollicino, great-grand daughter, Samantha, one brother Nathan Folwell of Dover, Del.
Folwell was prede-ceased by brother, Robert Folwell and grandson, Douglas.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment and military honors will follow at Woodbury Memorial Park.
