Notes for Joseph H. FELL

Joseph H Fell of 510 Sharpless Street, who passed away shortly before noon yesterday at the Homeopathic Hospital, was in his 72nd year. He had been admitted to the hospital Sunday following a stroke and never regained consciousness.
Mr. Fell was born at Locust Grove in Pocopson Township, June 3 1871 and was a son of the late Albert and Edith Chandler Fell.
For many years he was a farmer in Pocopson Township and ran a threshing machine in the farming community for a number of years. He was associated with the Prudential Insurance Company and was retired in November 1940 after a period of 25 years of faithful service.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ingram Fell, with whom he celebrated his forty seventh wedding anniversary on June 20th, and the following children Edith wife of Rev J Daniel Stover, of Collingswood New Jersey; Lena wife of L Edward Atwell West Chester Gardens; J Harold Fell West Chester, Emma F wife of Clifford P Darlington, West Chester; Rev H Ingram Fell, Philadelphia; Lillian F wife of Harry Hoffner 3rd West Chester R D and Fremont W Fell West Chester. His oldest daughter Charlotte died eight years ago. There are nine grandchildren.
Three brothers also survive, Chandler L Fell, of West Chester, William J Fell of Abington, and Clarence P Fell of Avondale.
The deceased was devoted to his home and family and the children and their parents enjoyed close family ties and associations. The father was of jovial disposition and was always ready to enjoy a jolly time. He got much enjoyment out of life and was in apparent good health until the time he was stricken. He was member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Chester and attended regularly with his family.
