Notes for John NICHOLS

John Nichols, (1741-1838), enlisted in Paris, 1778, through the influence of Benjamin Franklin, the Ambassador, and served to the end of the war. He was under Captain Blondé and Colonel Toulon at Kingsbridge and Yorktown. He was placed on the pension roll of Pennsylvania, 1832, for two years' actual service as private in the French troops. He was born in France; died in Philadelphia.
