Notes for Louisa A. PATTEN

Sup. Lamoreaux mother's family were Republicans. Her only brother, George Pattan, of Kent, enlisted in Co. B. Sixth Michigan Cavalry, under Capt. Webber of Grand Rapids and was killed in the battle of Falling Waters in Virgina in 1863. At that time the company was made up almost entirely of Kent county boys, was practically wiped out.

Back in 1906, when Sup. Lamoreaux was first elected to the office he now holds, his township's assessed valuation was about $2,000,000. At the pressent time it is assessed at $5,000,000 and ...

George T. Patten, only brother to Louise, enlisted in the Civil War at Grand Rapids in 1863 in Co. B, Sixth Michigan Cavalry. He was killed on July 14, 1864 near Falling Waters, Virginia
