Notes for Patricia Perry PENNOCK

PATRICIA PENNOCK HENRY, 78, of Huntington died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at her residence. She was born October 9, 1926, in Lansdowne, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles Foster and Elise Luck Pennock. She worked as a nurse’s aide during World War II and also taught nursery school until her marriage. Her most successful career, though, was that of a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of The Junior League of Huntington, Junior League Garden Club, Colonial Dames of America, a past president of the Ivy Club, Trinity Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild, a past president of Episcopal Church Women, and former docent at the Huntington Museum of Art. She loved being with her family and friends, arranging flowers and travelling. She has lived in Huntington for 47 years and has been very active in the community and church. She is survived by her husband, Thomas H. Henry, with whom she celebrated their 57th anniversary on January 30; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Clayton Zimmerman of Myerstown, Pa., and Patricia and John Maloney of Hampton Bays, N.Y.; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Geri Henry Jr.; eight grandchildren, Allan and Adam Zimmerman, Katherine, Laura and Kenzie Maloney and Elise, Shelley and Spencer Henry; one great-grandchild, Tosha Joseph Zimmerman; three sisters, Elise Johnson of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Helen Collings of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Charlotte Brown of Strafford, Pa.; and many wonderful friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Trinity Episcopal Church by The Very Rev’d R. Kevin Kelly and The Rev. Robert Thomas. Inurnment will follow in the Trinity Memorial Garden. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Huntington or Trinity Episcopal Church. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
