Notes for Mary Cowgill CORBIT
Mary attended Westtown Boarding School, Westtown, PA and Vassar College, NY. In 1901 she bought back the Wilson house that her grandfather, David Wilson, had lost at a forced sale in 1829. She left the house in her will to the people of Odessa, and it was deeded in 1969 to the Winterthur Museum. The house is a historical heritage building = google "Wilson-Warner house".
She married Edward Tatnall Warner II on 01 Nov 1876. Edward was the s. of Edward Tatnall Warner I and Williamina Young. Mary was his 3rd wife. He m1 Marjery Tatnall, who dsp 05 May 1860. He m2 Anna E. Grubb, who d. 24 Oct 1870 having 2 children by him. He is listed in the 1880 US Census as "keeping a coal yard". He was b. 11 Apr 1835 & d. 15 Jan 1904.
