Notes for Judson MINEAR

Judson Minear went to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in Palm City, FL. He was born on February 11, 1928 in Jupiter, FL. He graduated from Jupiter High School and the University of Florida with a degree in agriculture, where he gained a commission as Second Lieutenant in the US Army R.O.T.C. He served on active duty from 1951 to 1953 including an assignment in Korea. He began his business career employed by the Pennock Plantation Dairy in Jupiter, FL. He later continued managing the dairy on Loop Road in Palm City, FL after it was bought by Pennwood Farm until retirement in the late 1980's. Judson was active in community service with the Martin County Water and Soil Conservation program, the Martin County Fair Association as President, the Farm Bureau, Martin County Cooperative Extension Service as Advisory Committee Chairman, 4H Clubs, Gideons International, most notably their prison ministry, and as a long-time leader in his church. He and his wife, Charlene, are members of the First United Methodist Church of Stuart, FL. In 1995, he received the Outstanding Agriculturist Award. In addition to all of that, he was a strong influence in the personal lives of many friends and acquaintances. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlene (Hardison) Minear; daughter, Malinda Wantland; son, Robert Minear and his wife, Yolanda; 4 grandchildren, Megan Wantland, Will Wantland, Jayson Cox, and Judson L. Minear.; two step-grandchildren, Colton and Weston Landis; two brothers, Lloyd O. Minear and Charles W. Minear and his wife, Madeline. Judson was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd Vesper and Anna Pennock Laird Minear, and his brother, Nathan Laird Minear and his wife, Christine Kelly Minear. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Stuart, Florida. Interment will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1:00PM at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta, FL.
