Solomon Cresson probably removed with his mother and brother, James, to Curacoa in 1685 . . . next definite knowledge of him is at Port Royal, Jamaica, in 1696 . . . The barkentine 'Reformation' sailed from Port Royal on Aug. 23, 1696, bound for Philadelphia. She had a stormy passage . . . Sep. 22d was wreck off the coast of Florida . . . party finally reached St. Augustine . . . journey was continued to Charleston, where they took passage for Philadelphia (CFP 946). . . shortly afterwards purchased a part of his mother's lot on Chestnut St., on which he built a carpenter shop . . . She later sold to him the house and lot adjoining . . . made constable of the town . . . will left land in New Castle county,
Del., to his sister Rachel Lawsons' family, and considerable other real estate to be divided among his granchildren . . ."
