Notes for Joseph William GASKILL

Joseph enlisted as a private in the 104th Regiment, Union Army, on July 12, 1862, and left the army as a corporal in June 1865. In 1867 he went to Iowa, but went back to Ohio and married Lucretia Clapsaddle on October 8, 1868. He returned to Iowa, and operated a clothing store in Atalissa until 1874. He then returned to Marlborough, Ohio, and was a partner with W. H. Werner in a general store. He had three children in 1881, Eula, Cora and Ralph.
