Notes for Nicholas FAIRLAMB

From Mo. Mtg. at Stockton, Co. of Durham, England, June 13,1700, "hath lived and belonged to our meetting the time of his Aprentisship and Since he hath been loose from his Mr: being seaven years hath behaved himselfe orderly and honestly." Received 9 mo. 29, 1700.

Nicholas Fairlamb, of Durham, England, who brought to the Society of Friends at Philadelphia a certificate of membership from the Durham Monthly Meeting, dated June 13, 1700.
This Nicholas Fairlamb purchased a farm at Middletown. Chester county, and settled there in 1704. He was sheriff of the county 1717-1719; associate judge of the Court of Common Pleas 1715, and member of the Colonial Assembly 1704-5 -11-12-13. In 1703 he was married to Catherine Crosby, daughter of Richard and Eleanor Crosby.
