Charles Jarvis3 (b. about 1675 in Ireland, d. in London, in 1739) studied in London under Sir Godfrey Kneller, court painter, and became a celebrated
artist. (He was a friend of Pope, the poet, and translated Don Quixote.–See National Dictionary of Biography, XXIX., p. 354.)
