THOMAS BYE, b. circa 1650, probably at "Copyngedbridge House," Basingstoke, Hampshire, England; d. 25th June, 1726; emigrated to America from Horselydown, Southwark, England in 1699, with son John; his wife, Margaret, b. in England, d. 6th October, 1724, she and daughters followed to America in 1701; he settled on an estate of 1,000 acres in Buckingham, Bucks County. The history of the life of Thomas BYE is practically the story of the rise of Quakerism in England.
