Notes for Hercules YOUNG
A Quaker and a blacksmith by trade. He helped slaves escape to anti-slave states.In later years a negro recognized him because of his long hair as the man who took him across the river to get freedom. Hercules belonged to a Grapevine or Underground Railroad.
