Notes for Susannah N. BROOMELL

12/2/1929
Mrs. Susanna W. Hatton
At the home of her daughter, Mrs Mary Baldwin, at Goshen Heights, at eight minutes of twelve yesterday morning, Mrs Susanna W. Hatton passed away at the age of 96 years. She had been ill since Thursday evening, suffering from bronchial pneumonia.
Mrs Hatton was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Daniel Broomall and was born and raised in Chester County. Much of her early life was spent in Coatsville. She remembered the time when Coatsville started to grow and the man for whom that city was named. Four generations lived in the home in
which she ended her days. Being of such an old age, Mrs Hatton was active until the end.
She married Edmund Hatton, who passed away about thirteen years ago. She was the mother of twelve children, seven of whom are living. They are Mary, widow of the late George Baldwin, of Goshen Heights, Edmund of Willow Grove, Lena wife of George Hudders, of Coatsville, Elizabeth Snoval, of Coatsville, Laura, widow of the late Samuel Maharg of Coatsville; Samuel of Claymont, and
Harry of Philadelphia. There are thirty-four living grandchildren and forty-four great grandchildren, the youngest being three weeks old.
