Notes for Margaret GEUTING
MARGARET G. CHANDLER, 77, of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Thursday at Primacy Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. George's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of Daughters of Kings and a former vestry member, with burial in Salem County Veterans Cemetery in Salem, N.J. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge. She attended Holoman School for Girls in Philadelphia, Pa., and was a graduate of Ambler School of Horticulture at Temple University. She taught drama at St. Mary's in Peekskill, N.Y., served as a house parent for Ranch Home for Boys in Alloway, N.J., helped start a prayer group at St. Peter's Church in Peekskill, was the first female vestry member at Episcopal Church in Old Saybrook, Conn., and served as a vestry member at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Woodstown, N.J. Mrs. Chandler, the widow of Lt. Col. James B. Chandler, leaves two daughters, Dorothy Ann Callaway of Athens, Ga., and Jane Elizabeth Chandler of Howardsville, Va.; a son, George G. Chandler of Germantown, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. George's Episcopal Church or Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
