SAMUEL BANCROFT, JR, was educated at the School of Samuel ALSOP and Friends' School, Wilmington. Member of the Delaware Legislature 1867 and 1868. Became a partner in the firm of Joseph BANCROFT and Sons, 1865, and from the incorporation of Joseph BANCROFT and Sons Company in 1889 was its president until his death.
