Notes for William EDMUNDSON

All along there were voices against slavery. William Edmundson wrote in
1676 "...perpetual slavery is an aggravation, an oppression of the mind,
and hath a ground; and Truth is that which works the remedy, and breaks
the yoke and removes the ground. So it would do well to consider that
they may feel, see, and partake of your liberty in the gospel of
Christ..."
