Notes for Edward CANBY

Edward Canby, Gent. of Thorne (1630-1702), eldest son, and executor of his father, a tablet to whose memory and that of his wife, Elizabeth Elmhurst, is erected in the church of Thorne, was the Edward Canby mentioned in the record of his uncle, Thomas Canbye's, service as guide to King Charles, 1642. His wife was buried in 1685, "aged about 43."
