There is a great deal of information available about the part of the country in England where the Canbys came from. Thomas Canby
came from Thorne, England, which is close to the Lincolnshire border. It was an area of waterways at the time with some fertile areas between the rivers. It was in this area which we first find the name of Canby. George Canby born 1545 was a church warden in 1601.
