Notes for Arnold E. WHITEMAN

Arnold E. "Pete" Whiteman, Sr., 81, of Coatesville, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, December 6, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Aracelis Rivera Whiteman with whom he shared 29 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late William Whiteman, Sr. and Elsie Detterline Whiteman.

Pete was an area resident all his life and a 1958 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. He was employed by the Lukens Steel Company as a pipefitter. Later, he was employed by Handicrafters and he also worked at the Exton Mall in the maintenance department.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, life member of the West End Fire Company, Thorndale Fire Company, and the former Brandywine Fire Company. Pete also will be remembered for serving as a coach with the Coatesville Midget Football League.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by four children; Robin Winski and husband Joseph of Thorndale, Patti Pilotti of Honey Brook, Arnold E. Whiteman, Jr. of East Fallowfield and Edward Augustin of Mass., three stepdaughters; Lisa Abriola of Thorndale, Holly Cecilia Alderman of Atglen and Diane Marie Johnson of Coatesville, 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three siblings; Clair "Mike" Whiteman of Guthersville, Richard Whiteman of Atglen and Betty Brennan of Coatesville. He was preceded in death by seven siblings; Mac Whiteman, William Whiteman, Jr., Melvin Whiteman, Doris Taylor, Jean Whiteman, Robert Whiteman, and Herbert Whiteman.
