Notes for Dorothy LEVIS

Dorothy Levis Novak, 92, passed away peacefully at home on December 16, 2018 with wonderful support from the Crozer Keystone Hospice team. One of 5 children born to Frances and Richard Levis, she was raised in Chester and graduated from Chester High in 1944. She was married to Vincent Novak from 1949 until his death in 1980. She moved from Chester to Brookhaven in 1978. Her siblings were Virginia (Ginny) Mann, Richard (Dick) Levis, Nancy Reid, and William (Bill) Levis.
Dorothy loved gardening, reading and cooking, especially for her large Lancaster clan. Her macaroni and cheese was legendary and butter was her number 1 ingredient in all cooking and baking. She traveled extensively before and after retiring from Scott Paper Headquarters, where she worked as an executive secretary and paralegal for 30 years.
She is survived by her children Nancy in Media, Richard in Illinois, and Paul Scott (Judi Woomer) in Middletown; her daughter in law Patricia Williams Novak, mother of 10!; and her youngest brother Bill in Missouri.
She was Grand Dot to 13 devoted grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service Friday 11am at Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, PA, where she will be buried near her husband, parents, and her best friend/sister Ginny.
