Notes for Robert Strawbridge CROMPTON

Robert Strawbridge Crompton, of Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on July 15, 2018. Bob was born May 28, 1962 in Philadelphia, and was raised on his mother’s farm “ Runnymede” in Coatesville, Pennsylvania and in Palm Beach, Florida. He spent summers in Northeast Harbor, Maine. Bob attended Upland Country Day School, Trinity-Pawling School, and graduated from Widener University. Bob was a very accomplished equestrian, including hunters, jumpers, and foxhunting. He won many pony championships and was Amateur Champion of the Year on his horse “Wall Street Trader”. He was also a very skilled and competitive sailor, and won many championships on his well-campaigned boat “Full Cry”. Bob was a member of the Bath & Tennis Club, the Everglades Club, and The Sailfish Club in Palm Beach, and several clubs in Pennsylvania and Northeast Harbor. Bob is lovingly remembered by his mother, Diana S. Wister; brother, John S. Crompton; sister, Margaret D. Duriez; daughters, Taylor H. Crompton and Diana S. Crompton; nieces Charlotte H. Crompton, Ines D. Duriez, and Delphine D. Duriez; nephews Lucien D. and Hugo D. Duriez; half-brothers Andrew C. Crompton, James S.R. Crompton, William R. Crompton, Robert H. Crompton, and Thomas S. Crompton; and half-sister Georgia R. Crompton; and former wives Jill Hepworth Crompton and Sophie Sharp. He was predeceased by his father, Robert H. Crompton III. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. No arrangements have been made at this time.
