Notes for David Carl PENNOCK
David Carl Pennock was born Dec. 18, 1949. David joined the United States Air Force (USAF) on April 13, 1970. He served as a Civil Engineering Specialist and was honorably discharged on March 6, 1974 as a Sergeant. For his service and exemplary behavior, he was awarded the National Defense Service and USAF Good Conduct medals.
David Pennock aka Big Dave was the owner of "Big D Pilot Car Service" residing in Vacaville. He passed away on Aug, 23. He left behind a family of two sons Anthony (Tony), Vacaville and David Pennock, Woodland; three sisters, Joy, Sandra, and Sharon; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Big Dave touched many lives and made many friends and new families.
He worked for the civil service at Mare Island, then he transferred to Oakland naval supply center where he achieved the position of maintenance foreman. He retired upon the base closure; then he started his own pilot car service business.
Big Dave will be laid to rest with honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Sept. 8, at 9:30 a.m. He will be escorted by the Warriors' Watch Riders and fellow pilot car drivers. With respect and honor to our fallen brother, we say goodbye and bid him to "to fly, fight and win" one last time.
