Notes for Doris Ann DANNAKER
Doris Ann Davies, age 86, died November 19, 2017 at Lima Estates in Media. Doris was raised in Broomall, PA, was a lifelong resident of Aston, PA, later moving to Glen Mills, PA where she and her husband retired. She then moved to Lima Estates in 2002 where she made many friends. Doris was a graduate of Nether Providence High School. She went on to attend the then Stroudsburg and West Chester State Teachers Colleges. Doris later became a secretary at Sun Oil Company, and worked at Our Lady of Angles College, later known as Neumann University, in the library. Doris was active supporting the Glen Riddle Rotary, and Aston Business Association. She was also a long time active member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware County Chapter, and served as their President. Doris also enjoyed taking part in the activities at Fox Hill Farms, helping with the annual fair at Lima Estates, and her pursuit of her family’s genealogy and actively welcomed newcomers to “the porch.” She was the wife of the late Dick R. Davies, Jr., the daughter of the late Harold E. and the late Clara Dannaker, and the sister of the late Claire Barrett (Jay). SURVIVORS: Her sons: David (Michele), Douglas (Constance) and Donald (Ruth); her granddaughters: Alyssa, Julie, Chelsea, and Diana; her nephews: Peter Barrett (Amanda), and Carl Brown (Debbie), and the Dannaker cousins VISITATION: Friday from 10:00-11:15 am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA. Funeral Service: Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:30 am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA BURIAL: Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA.
