Notes for Wilmer Washington III SAGER
Wilmer W. Sager III, formerly of West Chester 11/10/1924-11/12/ 2017 93 years and 2 days old. Our beloved father passed on into the everlasting on Sunday, November 12th. Just 3 weeks after his wife of 67 years, Nancy Hamilton Sager left us, Dad joined her there. Born into a family of Pennsylvania dairy farmers who arrived with William Penn, Dad lived according to his Quaker roots in simplicity and peace. Always strong, always caring, quiet, and steady, he spent his life providing for his family and making his own way in the world. He taught us the value of independence and hard work. Dad loved the farm, caring for the animals, countless hours in the garden, and being a good steward of the land he loved. He had a life well lived - a good life from playing trumpet in Chris Sanderson’s big band to fishing in the Outer Banks. He adored his family - Dad was a loving husband, father of David Sager, Steven Sager, and Debra Sager Jordan. He is grandfather to Ryan Sager, Zachary Sager, Julian Jordan, and Gabriela Jordan. And is great-grandfather to little Sarah Z. Sager. We will always miss you and hold you forever in our hearts. Each of us will remember you in our own ways in love and admiration. I will close my eyes and see your smile and see your hand reaching out to lift me up....Farewell Dad.... until we meet again.... Details for a memorial service will be announced later.
